Senegal

SDI began exploring relationships with the Fédération Sénégalaise des Habitants (FSH) in 2014 at the World Urban Forum in Medellin through an introduction by urbaMonde. In 2010 FSH began setting up collective women’s savings schemes with the aim to enable people to sustainably rebuild their homes affected by flooding in Dakar. FSH has conducted some participatory mapping but would like to further expand its community data collection programs through SDI’s Know Your City campaign. FSH is eager to learn from SDI’s experience and align its work around savings and data collection with that of SDI. FSH is supported by the local NGO UrbaSen.
